Yet another spider pic.

    Mrs N caught this in the bathroom. It's feigning death. If you poke it enough with a blade of grass, it will eventually stand up on all fours - twice. OK , all eights.

    Anyway, she said that when she tried to scoop it into a glass, she could here a sound like tearing paper, as the remnants of Web came away from the wall. Upon hearing this, I instantly thought " false widow" , why? I don't know.

    Anyway, here's the best photos I could manage. He's a out the size of a whole peanut.

    I suppose, my meandering thoughts should have concluded with.....

    Does anyone know precisely what type of spider this is?

    Whatever it is, it has subsequently reanimated itself and scurried off down the garden.

    Locking the doors and windows now, and priming the flame thrower.
