Does anyone on here have experience with wearing a Heart Monitor? I'm suffering from stress due to an issue with my dad's aging mental health, and I went for a checkup on my Medical Card and it flagged a problem with my Heart.

i will now have to wear a heart monitor (not sure for how long)

Hi there OP. I had a similar situation July 2023 where my BP was 205/135!!! Yes! Stroke territory. All due to stress. Aged 44.

I have never worn a "heart monitor" - but assuming you had your BP checked and were given an ECG, the doctor is simply erring on the side of caution. Are you sure it was a heart monitor as opposed to maybe a 24 hour blood pressure monitor? A heart monitor as I understand it - is like a mini ECG, worn for 24 hours.

Perhaps ask the question of the doctor who treated you?

18 months on, I now go for regular check ups and even insisted on an ECG and wore another 24h BP monitor in Dec.

BP now a perfect 120/80 and ECG clear. Try not to add to your stress in the mean time. If you have no history of heart disease in the family - then you need to make lifestyle changes ASAP, to get the stress down. Google CBT, box breathing and try to make time for yourself (walking, meditation, etc) to help with your heart health.

The "problem" with your heart may have been a simple case of the stress and anxiety driving your numbers through the roof!

    Be positive OP!

she checked my Blood Pressure, and it was a completely normal reading, I think she has just been cautious, my cholesterol was up a bit compared to last year's reading so she has upped my Statin to 40MG, Strange my cholesterol was high,i had Gastric Sleeve 2 years ago in Turkey and i am unable to eat Fast Food.

I have had a holter monitor two or three times. PITA as you can't shower with the wires on
