Compass North vs North elevation on a drawing : 100 plus windows

Having a discussion with an architect re the above

Am trying to use the elevation drawings to reconcile the windows on drawing vs the windows schedule

The green windows are facing north

The blue windows are facing south.

No issue there

However when he produces the elevation drawings, on the north elevation drawing

which windows would you expect to see:

Green

Yellow

(none of the above!!)

Ive always understood it would be Green.

North elevation is for someone standing and looking at the building from the North.

Green. The north elevation is the north side view , ie standing on that side looking south.

If your architect is getting this wrong I’d be questioning their credentials.

Just use elevation A, B, C, D as marked on plan

or Elevation Markers.
