My sons 2014 Nissan Note had anew clutch fitted about 3 months ago.

The first snowy morning he felt reverse and first were sticky, and since it's been getting worse, more gears are sticky. Yesterday he had to turn off the engine to get out of reverse and into first.

Any thoughts on what it could be?

Gear linkages? Maybe gearbox oil change needed ? Bring it to a mechanic?

Check the oil level on the brake and clutch first. Otherwise this sounds like master cylinder has gone bad. I had the same issue before.

Mac, I think you're right in one. Got to a garage this evening, that's their diagnosis. The clutch and slave cylinder were done recently enough.

Any harm to ask what the master cylinder cost?

I got it done for 450eu at a honda dealer for my 2013 civic last year, unfortunately none of my local garages were able to fit me in and the dealer is the only place where they can do the job straightaway as I need the car. Im sure local garages would charge lower.

Thanks Mac, I'll post when I know the cost out of interest.

Went back to the garage today. they said it only needed bleeding, didn't need the master cylinder was OK. Must have been an air bubble in the line.

Time will tell. The air bubble wasn't there for the last 3 months waiting to appear.

Dirty Nails is correct. Bleeding helped for 24 hours only. New master cylinder fitted, cost 175 Euros.
