cost of kitchen remodel

    Hi,

    Has anyone done a kitchen remodel recently - full kitchen with island, units and appliances.

    How much did it cost you? Did you get one company to do all of the work?

    Hi,

    I finished this just before Christmas.

    Used 5 suppliers/trades in total.

    Cost was c.12K broken down as follows:

    1. Remove worktop, splashback tiling install new quartz worktop and splash back. remove and reconnect gas hob, install new sink and taps, reinstall gas hob c.6.5K
    2. Respray kitchen (mainly off site. 1 day on site))new hinges, new handles new skirting, replace one shelf c.3K
    3. Take up existing tiled floor, lay new tiled floor c.2K
    4. Misc (new under cupboard lights, fix leaks, paint wall) c.500

    It took 3 months end to end. My sequencing was.

    1. Worktop
    2. Floor
    3. Respray
    4. Paint (couldn't agree on colour until everything done)

    Not saying this was the best way at all but I had challenges with the floor (uneven wooden suspended floor where original tiling had not worked).

    Hardest trade to find was the Gas fitter.

    Worktop guy recommended a handyman who was crucial in removing the original worktop and making ready for the new now.

    Worktop guy also recommended the Respray guy.

    Tiler was found after a lot of searching.

    Gas fitter was found eventually via RGII. Most of them will not do small jobs.
