Christmas Cracker Toys

I noticed this Christmas, having bought an extra large selection of Christmas Crackers, that the toys have remained mostly the same since the early 1990’s ; Fortune fish, miniature skittles, plastic spider, large plastic paper clip, miniature playing cards etc. etc.

I do seem to remember, for a few years, a mini spirograph set/stencil which always appeared. Did a quick search online and no sign of it in the current selection of toys.

Anyone remember it ; small rectangle, clear blue plastic with 2 circular areas for the mini Spirograph wheels.

I hope this does not turn out to be another example of the Mandela Effect!!!!!

I still have a very small penknife which I got in a M&S cracker years ago. Not sharp, but surprisingly handy.

Never saw the spirograph toy though.

    I recall the following:

    • a fake spider
    • a jumping frog
    • a luminous transparent green mini triangle ruler
    • a wooden 6 sided dice
    • a couple of mini screwdrivers
    • a mini deck of cards
    • a mini spinning top

Yes! I also remember all of the above…and…all are still available today. This is why the missing Spirograph toy has me a bit stumped. Not even a picture online anywhere. I can remember seeing it as late as 2005.

Look forward each year to get the 'mystery number calculator' always impresses my kids and nieces/ nephews although this year it took a few attempts to get it right … must have been the wine.

A few I found in my parents house this weekend. Middle one is a mini whisk, maybe for stirring a mug of hot chocolate. This and the screwdriver set came from M&S crackers probably.

A plastic case for the screwdriver set, it’s lid and a separator for the 4 interchangeable screwdriver heads which fits inside the case.

    I found a few more:

    • Small pack of playing cards
    • Small dice, the dots are badly faded on most sides
    • A ring puzzle, I didn’t have time to figure out what it is supposed to do etc.

I’m pretty sure I have a larger wooden dice with black dots somewhere.

I remembered where I had the larger dice.

Not sure if the mini egg timer came from a cracker or a quiz or board game.
