Condensation in draft lobby

Just wondering if anyone has advice, renovated the house years ago and put in a draft lobby. Works great for stopping heat loss but the lobby is terrible for condensation.

It has no trickle vent etc so I am wondering would that resolve the issue? it is already a room that is freezing so it wont make a differenece? any other options

I have a defumidifier in the house which works perfect but doesn't cover the draft lobby and I don't have power in it to put a small one

Hi! Is the hall-door left open into the lobby, as you call it, or is it closed most of the time? What type of hall-door it is, wooden, PVC or a newer composite type, and how well sealed is the hall-door from the lobby?

We have two PVC doors, the outer one stays open a good bit when not old and even during winter but could be closed from 6 till 8 the next day

The inner door is pvc triple glazed to stop heat loss

You might be trapping the damp in the lobby. Try dry-off the window and see if it comes back after keeping the doors all closed.

I'm not sure though that I'd go so far as to recommend that you fit a trickle-vent as that might defeat the purpose of of the lobby.

What kind of floor is in the lobby..?

Is it a case where it was built as an add-on on the outside path/driveway etc ?

Its a concrete floor with tiles on it, it was orignally part of the house but it was jutting out, so at point which it aligns with the rest of the wall of main house I put in a triple glazed door. It is only about 1m wide and 1.5m long. Only a small space

You might have a point @whizbang. Chances are that it's a plinth and is missing a DPM etc.

Its an old bugalow, I dug up the floors and put down proper insulation etc but not sure if we done that area

Where abouts is the condensation in the lobby? on the outer "outer" door or somewhere else?

I would also agree that's its probably coming up through the floor. A quick test might be to tape down a polythene sheet to the floor and see if its damp underneath after a day or two.
