Pinergy consumption: HELP.

Being Pinergy a pre-paid consumption provider, should I pay for the days I was away?
My and my housemates topped up 150€ 3 weeks ago but for two full weeks I was away and clearly only consumed part of the 50€ I put up-front. Now it’s time to top up again but to be honest I don’t think it’s fair I should put another 50€ when I was on holidays.

In my opinion it should be taken into account I wasn’t even in the house but my housemates claimed the opposite.
    What’s your opinion on this?

What does your contract say? I have a normal contract with flogas and I pay a supply network charge per day. I cannot get away with not paying when I'm on holiday. Or is it some other charge?

Even though you are away, the fridge and other appliances still user power

I read this as a discussion to be had between housemates - either the bills are split between everyone regardless or there's an arrangement for housemates on holiday.

Nothing to do with the electric supplier

We basically top up an amount, that we can decide, and then use the credit, Once we are low in credit we top up again.

I simply do not think it is fair that I had to put 50 euro just before my holidays and now, only 3 weeks later, another 50, considering I was away for 2 of them.

Even taken into consideration the standard use of the fridge and other appliances, the maximum I spent is 25. I find it absurd that being a pre-paid credit, I still have to pay the same amount as the others who were in the house.

In fairness, no matter what anyone on here says, that's something you'll have to thrash out with your housemates and come to some agreement on.

And while you're at it, figure this one out whatever way you can (you might wind up having to stump up this time, you might not), but come up with an agreement acceptable to you all for if/ when such a situation arises again.

Then you go down the route of one of your housemates saying oh I only cooked once in two weeks and I was away one weekend and I only used the washing machine three times etc etc.

It just gets madly messy. Just top up as normal. It will work itself out.
