PAYE customer with Sole-trader 'side hustle' - treatment of miscellaneous medical expenses etc?

    Hi folks,

This may have been answered before so apologies…

Basically I'm a PAYE customer, but I do a Form 11 and submit returns every year as well, because I have pennies in music royalties coming in. Hardly worth the effort basically but c'est la vie..

My question is around stuff like medical expenses (prescriptions, treatments, etc etc) and other items not covered by insurance etc.

Do I try to file them via Form 11 or via normal PAYE route as personal customer?

    Thanks

If you are a sole trader that takes precedence over the fact you're PAYE for your "main" income. You're a self assessment customer no matter how small the self-assessed income is, so you couldn't use the normal PAYE service anyway. Everything goes through the return.

OK well that sounds grand to be honest, it keeps it simple - so everything just goes on the Form 11

    Thanks - appreciate it
