[Resolved] Banned for reacting to insult but insulter allowed to continue insulting

I was called a vatnik on the russia thread. I asked what it meant and was told

in simple words - a selly sad low life low IQ clowns, usually suffering from schizophrenia, always sees enemies around, imaginary of course. We have at least a dozen regular vatniks posting their "concerns" daily, even though, we never asked.

I thanked the user who gave the explanation and said I would report the insult (https://www.boards.ie/discussion/comment/122951138#Comment_122951138) and was then banned for two weeks for backseat moderation.

In a post that has been since removed, the name caller doubled down on calling me a vatnik.

In fairness, the moderator intervened to say no further calling of posters vatnik was to be allowed, however, the name caller was allowed to continue to contribute while I was banned for two weeks.

I do not see how this is fair. How is it fair that someone can abuse someone and then the victim of their abuse is banned with no repercussions to them? Am I missing something because I don't understand this.

You were warned for off topic posting. If you're going to report a post, just report it. You don't need to announce it.

Warnings in CA carry incremental forum bans. As this wasn't your first, or second, or even third warning in CA you earned a 2 week ban. Next warning in CA will carry a longer ban again.

These warnings are not appealable in DRP forum, so this thread will be locked.

Please familiarise yourself with the CA forum charter and you should be able to avoid future warnings and bans.
