Firearm Storage in greater than one location.

At the moment I find myself in a position where I am regularly moving between two locations depending on the week. I usually go target shooting at the range once per week and often have to drive to one house where my firearms are regularly stored and then onto the firing range, ideally what I am looking for would be to have the legal ability to store my firearms at either location or even to be able to temporarily store my firearm at the second location for a short period, can this be done or are you fixed to the address outlined on an issued cert? Can the firearms be kept in a secured vehicle for a period of a few days?

Are you fixed to the address outlined on an issued cert?

Call your FO and explain your situation, they will often say yes provided that the secure storage is in place at both locations.
And obviously that the majority of the time they stay at the address listed on your licences, otherwise an address change may be needed, or an amendment on PULSE to note the other location they are stored at, or some combination of the above.

Can the firearms be kept in a secured vehicle

Cutting off the remainder of the question because the answer to the above snippet is no. A vehicle cannot be secure storage under the legislation, so is not suitable for storing firearms for any period of time.
    Transport yes, but storage no.

As an alternative approach if you wanted to store your firearms at the range(which given your scenario would be the simplest approach) that would be an option, assuming your range offers storage of firearms.

Never forget, the end goal is zero firearms of any type.

S.I. No. 187/1972 - Firearms (Temporary Custody) Order - Firearms seized

S.I. No. 21/2008 - Firearms (Restricted Firearms and Ammunition) Order 2008 - Firearm types restricted

Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009 - Firearms banned & grandfathered

S.I. No. 420/2019 - Magazine ban, ammo storage & transport restricted

Criminal Justice (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2023 - 2023 Firearm Ban (retroactive to 8 years prior)

Storage at your range, seems the likely solution, for convenience... albeit, at an annual cost.

That said, a second safe and possibly an alarm, also comes at a cost.

Assuming you've named your club on your licence app, I also wonder if there's any further approval needed (or of its "taken as read" by the Gardai, that you may avail of secure club storage, occasionally)

    Thanks,

    G.

This should be fine. You'll have to install a safe at the second location, maybe an alarm. The license should list the location where they are kept most of the time.

the firearms be kept in a secured vehicle for a period of a few days?

Absolutely not, don't even float this idea with the FO.
