Diet Fads: Science or Fiction?

    Do you prefer one or more of a diverse set of diets that may be categorized as vegan, or low fat, or low carb, or high carb, or high protein, or calorie restricted, or fasting, or some form of restrictive or alternative food consumption?

    What made you decide to pursue this diet? Did you follow the advice of your medical professional, or dietitian, or government health agency recommendation, or school teachings, or religion, or family, or friends, or social media influencers, or mainstream news, or advertising, or a combination of sources?

    Did anyone read the scholarly peer reviewed literature regarding the diet before or after pursuing it? If not, why not?
