Is it possible to listen to BBC Radio 6 on Alexa speakers?

    Hello.

    Simple question: Is it possible to listen to BBC Radio 6 on Alexa speakers? And how?

    I used to be able to do it but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

    I think all the BBC stuff is geo-locked i looked at this as i used to be able to stream BBC radio 2 on tune in in the car. It stopped working and i think that was the reason.

    It is possible on Alexa, set up a BBC sounds account and connect your Alexa(amazon) account and it works perfectly.

    I had a problem listening to BBC Radio 4 on the google speaker a few weeks ago. By saying BCC4 radio instead of BBC radio four, it worked. Seems to be back to normal now. So maybe try a few different forms of wording.

    BBC radio 6 works on Google.

    Only tv is geolocked. BBC Sounds is fine.

    First you go 'Alexa open BBC Sounds' maybe with a please.

    Then you get asked what you would like to listen to today.

    Sorry if this is superfluous info….

    TuneIn also allows you to listen to BBC. If there’s an Alexa skill for that, it should work.

    when you refer to alexa, are you also generalisiing it to include all smart speakers such as google nest ??

    Google Nest responds to 'Play 6 Music' without any problem. The only difficulty is with 5 Live during certain events.

    Apparently BBC sounds is going UK only soon according to a posting over on DS. Might mean the end of listening to their radio channels in areas out of reach of FM or DAB

    They are also carried on satellite (sky and freesat) and no geoblock on any events.

    Would ve very disappointed of this happened. BBC sounds is an excellent app with fantastic content.

    6 music I listen to all weekend, would really miss it if it was gone. I know there are ways and means etc to access geoblocked stuff, but BBC sounds is one thing I would have no problem paying for.
