Best Way to get to Dublin Quays from North Monaghan

Hi all, I have relocated to North Monaghan/Tyrone Border and will do one day a week in Dublin on the Quays. No parking available at the office.

Whats my best route? I drove to Lusk train station this morning and got train to Connolly, about 2.5 hours door to door which isnt terrible but just wondering is there a better option?

Would it be faster to drive to Whitehall, park in the Whitehall Church Carpark and get any bus going towards town?

McGinleys bus passes through Aughnacloy and Monaghan town (haven't taken it in donkeys years but it used to have a stop in Monaghan) - you might be able take it from there? It goes to Parnell Square

Leaves from lower Courthouse carpark and drops on O'Connell St and Nassau St I think.

Which end of the Quays? Heuston or the Point? The Quays are 5km long! It might have an impact on options.

As does Bus Eireann - has routes that stop in Monaghan and Ardee (and possibly others, they're just two that i clicked into). Goes to Busaras, where there's a Luas that will take you all the way up or down the quays if required.

Train from Dundalk to Connolly, journey time wouldn't be very different, but you would have more time sitting on the train which you could use to work or entertainment, rather then driving.

Sorry thats true, down closer to the point across from the Custom house so right near Tara street and 5 mins walk from Connolly

Just make sure you get on an early train because the trains have been incredibly unreliable of late.

Traffic can be an absolute nightmare coming in from the M1, I wouldn't fancy it after a drive from Monaghan. Someone suggested heading to Dundalk and getting the train, I'd say that's the best bet. At least there's a chance for a rest after work on the way back.
