Just found the chain I ordered € 10 cheaper on bike-discount.de incl p&p. Too late. Problem is I'll be away over Christmas and don't want package lying on doorstep for 3 days and can't contact them to delay dispatch a few days.

For real? Maybe you meant Chain Driven Cycles because you def didn't get it from CRC recently. Or you got scammed?. Or youre having a ( perverse ) laugh?

I want to see where this thread goes, I hope it is a glitch in the matrix and @dohouch is from pre Covid times, and they use this thread to gather info from the future, rather than mixing up the names of two sites.

An existential question, would we know if they changed the future, is it possible that they could or would they simply exist in a different universe going forward

Yep but at the time they explicitly were UK sales only- no export. Looks like its all changed if dohouch is based in R.of Ireland.

I haven't bought any bike parts online since Brexit (I'm nearly cured)

I'm deep in ROI countryside, so what would be a good site for me to shop on if I need the odd bit. Our local one man operation just shut up shop after 39 years. Nearest bike shop is 30 miles away and neither of them had a 9 speed chain!

Neither have been offering free postage so factor in preparing to pay min €10 per shipment. There are quite a few in EU-land these days

Hands up, news to me, a lot of their stuff moved over to Sports Direct after the first full close after being UK only for a short time, never knew they reopened. There site looks dodgy as hell but I'd say it is legit but most of their stock is forward shipper for SD and others.

I also should have said that getting through to them is pointless in regards delaying postage if they are anything like their other companies. There was a time someone in the CRC office when they were smaller would run out and just pull the order of the line but that hasn't been possible in years and I would say the cost of sending someone to do it now would be more than the return postage would cost.

You have 14 days to return it from receipt, for the sake of a tenner, if they are something you want, might just be better to take the hit. They are normally in a plastic bag so should weather the weather.

@CramCycle the site recognised my email and account details, address were correct. However, trying to use the reset PWD link didn't .

Will report on progress. I was not worried about weather damage,3 days on doorstep, but putting temptationin the way of idle hands. am in a 100 house estate.

Mike Ashley has relaunched it. I make a point now of avoiding his shops. Sports Direct in Carrikmines had a massive sale on when they were doin ga new fit out but wouldnt let anyone try anything on as apparently they were too busy to monitor the changing rooms but promised my I could get a full refund in any store. Of course things didnt fit and then my local shop said sorry we never give refunds, credit only which was useless to me. Then I tried them again recently looking for a pair of shoes for my son, asked them for a size to try then after 10 mintues wsa otld oh we left them at the tell. Had to que up again at the till and was then told oh you want to try them, we can only hand out 1 single shoe at a time you can't try on a pair which is rediculous.

Chain arrived @ 08.42 this morning, with Fastway. No additional charges.

No quick-link included😱, just a single rivet. A new trick to go and learn.
