How handy is it to try and find replacement tiles from a 10 year old bathroom or am I wasting my time?

Wasting your time unless they're bog standard metro tiles or similar in a plain colour.

I had to re-do my ensuite years ago after the previous owners had a "professional" tiler install expensive large format porcelain tiles. Tried a load of tile suppliers in the area and the greater Dublin region and no one had anything remotely similar. They advised stock changed every 6 months in an effort for continued churn and remodeling.
