I'm a big fan of WordPress for its flexibility, especially from a developer's perspective. Even from a non-technical user's viewpoint it is great too.

With a fresh start you can plan out the structure to best suit the audience (not the club executive) and copy the content over manually. There might be a way to export from Wix to WordPress but, as Wix generates horrible html code, the result could be a mess. Copy/paste from one browser window to another might be best. This will be a tedious and time consuming process, especially if you have a lot of content.

After that is done you need to think about what you would like to see happen to the Google links to the old sites. Ideally their urls could be redirected to the appropriate ones on the new site.

If they have registered the name with register365 , does the website have to be made via register365 ?

Generally no, that would be a very strange restriction to have.

This sounds like a great opportunity to build a new website with fresh content, rather than trying to copy loads of crap, outdated content from two old websites.
