Options for Engineers / Sqi cert? Vehicle is already a Registered Camper

    Hi All, looking for a bit of advice. I purchased a sprinter conversion Friday after a viewing / test drive a couple of weeks back. Guy selling it was sound enough, pointed out defects and even offered a torch and something to lie on while I was checking underneath etc.. Genuine reason for sale etc.

    Was converted a couple of years ago, is on the taxbook as a motor caravan & valid cvrt disc shows it as M1 vehicle.We arranged for him to drop it off and I’d run him home in my car, he could then cancel his insurance and I could then arrange my own policy for the camper. He even took me out for another run on a decent road near me for a few miles just to show it’d easily cruise at 120 kph before I transferred funds.

    Contacted insurance company, answered the usual questions and they emailed me the pack out. One of the documents they are asking for is a simi registered engineers report.

    I contacted seller, he messaged back pretty much straight away saying he thought it was in glove box but it must be at home somewhere, he only needed it for vrt / change of vehicle particulars when converted and has never needed it for insurance renewals, he going to see if he can find it, he’s away for the weekend but contact has been good. As I said earlier he seems genuine enough.

    Seems a bit daft the insurance asking for it as it wouldn’t have gotten converted and registered in the first place without it. Thought I’d done my due diligence but here we are! Broker I contacted was Arachas

    My question is, if he can’t find the cert what are my options? Can I just get another cert?
    It’s just got the original factory fitted seats in front. Has bed, cooker, sink, storage & table.
