Hi - built a gaming PC a few years ago now and looking again for yearly upgrade suggestions.

16 year old owns it - plays mostly Elden Ring and those type of games online, multiplayer etc

Currently build below - Total budget around €400-500 max
Was potentially looking to change one of the monitors to 32 inch curbed maybe and open to other suggestion to improve performance (it pretty performs well as is but been a few years so looking to see if makes sense to swap something out to give it a little more kick)

Motherboard: ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING AM4/B450/DDR4/S-ATA 600/ATX Socket Motherboard - Black
    Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
    Graphics Card: AMD RX 5700
    SSD: Samsung 980 NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB
    HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 320GB
    HDD: Seagate ST3500620AS 500GB
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 C16 2x8GB
PSU: Cougar Compact Power Supply GX-S 550W

    Monitor 1: BenQ GL2580HM 24.5 Inch FHD
Monitor 2: Samsung S24D590PL 23.6" LED PLS Monitor

    Thanks as always !

    CPU & GPU aren't worth much anymore at CEX, respectively 24e + 122e (trade-in) / 17e + 99e (cash)

But you can upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 5-5600 (100e) or even go all the way to Ryzen 7-5700x3D (200e) and remove a CPU bottleneck.

GPU then is a choice between:

    • Nvidia RTX 4060: low power draw, good drivers but hampered by 8GB VRAM
    • Intel Arc B580: slightly worse power draw (not much), 12GB VRAM but hampered by driver issues in some games

For GPU though you should wait until mid-January 2025.

Thanks - I will probably go for the Ryzen 7-5700x3D and leave GPU till next year.

You suggesting to wait until mid-January as prices will come down with release of newer GPUs ?

Also if you dont mind - any opinions on this monitor?
