Back in the olden days of 2014 I built a PC. It was beautiful, it was glorious, it took everything out there and never let me down. It's been put through a lot but now she struggles to keep up. Seriously this poor system couldn't run Space Marine 2 without it looking like a 90's power point.

Haven't really kept up with the PC component world but I've put together a list below of what I think will be a solid and long term upgrade.

    Current Build:
    CPU: i5 4690k
    GPU: nVidia 1070
    RAM: 16GB DDR3

Thinks I can salvage for sure. 250GB SSD for the OS, and a 500GB NVME m.2. Power supply is a EVGA SuperNova G2 750W '80 Plus Gold'

    New Build:
    CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X3D
    GPU: Gigabyte RX 7800XT 16GB
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B650-A WIFI ATX
    RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6000 CL30
    Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB.

Approximate price range I'd like to keep it in would be €1200 to €1700. Vast majority of gaming is done on a 1440p monitor, Space Marine 2 smoothly, RDR2 are the main single player games. Warcraft retail would be played fairly often too.

7600X3D will hold you out until PS5 probably. Where are you able to buy it from?

AMD & Nvidia are about to unveil new GPUs in the coming month. If you can hold off, do so.

Not keen on them but I'd probably buy from Amazon simply because right now they're coming up cheaper, been comparing with Paradigit, Orbit and OCUK. Had serious hassle in the past attempting to get orders from Mindfactory.

edit: Paradigit have the 7600X3D in stock so would order it from them. If a better one is available for a decent price range I'm good for it.

I had thought only Micro Center had the 7600X3D but a few places show up on the German pcpartpicker including computeruniverse who deliver here so I guess it is possible to get one. They want €369 for it as an OEM/tray processor and not sure how they handle VAT to Ireland but there's certainly a €50 delivery on top. Given the 7800X3D used to be under that price and a 7500F is down around €150 it feels very pricey, especially for an OEM processor, but I guess that's just the way it is right now.

TBF the €150ish 7500F is a stand out deal the other way, as much as I hate the F-skus! For most people focused on gaming I'd say the 7500F now and a future upgrade is the way to go.
