Application Process Nightmares

Hello Everyone, the purpose of this group will be to discuss the application process for an Garda Siochana. I have created this group to discuss the absolute nightmare that is the application process,I want to hear about other people's stories who have endured unbelievable wait times to hear about your application decision? Please share your story's here..I have endured an 18 month wait so far with no end in sight. I keep getting the same auld story regarding suitability checks, you can be from any year regarding the competition I would like to know if there are others out there who wound up in a similar situation as myself? And finally would you continue to wait or pull the plug on the whole thing and move on?...cheers!

I completed all requirements since june. Got a email saying possible phone call but nothing since the email sent to me late September.. If I hear nothing from AGS about March I'll pull out of the process..Really disappointed to hear nothing about December intake which I was really hoping for.. Seems a drawn out affair with the vetting process 🤐

Thank you for your reply..yes March is my final limit too. Initial application submitted in March 2023 and still no invite as a matter of fact there has been virtually no communication from them other than when I ring which leads me to believe I won't be receiving an offer and I am making a fool put of myself ringing and emailing to no avail, I think it's absolutely crazy to leave people in limbo like they do and still announce recruitment competitions when they have able bodied men and women dying to get in the doors.

I've called loads of times but it's the same response from them saying it's a on going process and they themselves have no idea how long the vetting process will take!!!

I'm the same as I've contacted them about 20 times and get the same generic response they are like robots on the phone.
