    Viewing a house next week. Saw this grey box coming from fuse board on virtual tour. Any ideas please?

    BTW the cable running from left to right over fusebox seems to be from plug on left to intercom outside door. No idea what mess of cables on right either is, will try figure out when there.

    It looks like a power supply by the way that it's vented all over. It might be an external power supply for a bell.

    As for that other coil, that looks like alarm cable and you could check the windows to see if they have a matching coil of wire at them.

    If that is the state of wiring in the house you are viewing, I would strongly recommend you get the wiring checked by a registered electrician before buying.
