Does Three Sim lock new iPhones?

    Hi,

I'm going to jump ship from Vodafone after a number of years due to the ridiculous price they want for a new iPhone 16 to upgrade (€339 @ €65p/m compared to Three €99 @ €60p/m)

The iPhone 13 i got from Vodafone the last time was unlocked. I am heading to the USA at the end of January next year and was looking to add an eSIM for data, which i can't do if the iPhone is SIM locked.

Additionally, if it is locked are Three OK with unlocking the SIM for the reasons of travelling etc.

    Thanks.

Not sure about the sim lock questions, but check that price with Vodafone again before you move. They had the iPhone 16 for €389 with a 2 year contract, but knocked it down to €89, similar to 3:

If you select that you want a new number the Vodafone deal is €389.99 (which I guess is the same deal for an upgrade) where as if you say you want to transfer your number its €89.99

I don't know if Three are still locking iPhones (they don't seem to do it with Samsungs) but I managed to get an iPhoen 13 unlocked on Three last year after a few months - I said I was giving it to family and they unlocked it in a few days.
