hi I’m new here and would like to learn some more about how heating systems work , I understand how combi boilers work but not quite how heat pump controls work

Basically the type of controls we wire for heat pumps are as follows ( 2 zones ) 1.5 t&e to switched spur from spur to room stat from room stat to brown on motorised valve but here’s what I can’t get my head around there’s no permanent feed on the grey like when I’ve wired ( combi boiler heating controls )

The 2 oranges are joined together and the 2 greys are joined together with a single core from orange and grey going to the heat pump unit ,so when the stat calls for heat it powers the brown on the MV which opens the valve and closes the micro switch but with no permanent being used there I can’t figure out what’s happening as to how the heat pump controls work in this type of setup if appreciate any information
