Are you trying to delete the app or your account?

The app can be deleted like any other

There's any number of guides online to delete your account. It's worth downloading your data first to keep a copy, there might be some pictures in there you want to keep ir something

First, I want to know what you want to delete, as others have asked: the App or the entire account because both options require different options.

See, If you want to delete the app, then simple go the app section of the phone or tap for the 1 to 3 second on the app, you'll see the uninstall option. Just do it.

Now, If you want to delete the entire account permanently, then options are different for both operating systems: iPhone (IOS) and Android. See below how to complete the process.

    Deleting an Instagram Account

On Android and iPhone (Mobile App):

    1. Open the Instagram App:
      • Log in to the account you want to delete.
    2. Go to Your Profile:
      • Tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner.
    3. Access Settings:
      • Tap the three lines (menu) in the top-right corner.
      • Select Settings and Privacy.
    4. Find Account Settings:
      • Scroll down and select Account Center.
      • Tap Personal Details, then Account Ownership and Control.
    5. Note: Instagram will keep your account temporarily deactivated for 30 days before permanently deleting it.
      • Select Deactivation or Deletion.
      • Choose your Instagram account from the list.
      • Select Delete Account and tap Continue.
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm deletion.

    Deleting a Facebook Account

On Android and iPhone (Mobile App):

    1. Open the Facebook App:
      • Log in to the account you want to delete.
    2. Access Settings:
      • Tap the three lines (menu) in the top-right corner (Android) or bottom-right corner (iPhone).
      • Scroll down and select Settings & Privacy, then Settings.
    3. Account Settings:
      • Scroll to Account Ownership and Control under Your Information.
    4. Deactivation and Deletion:
      • Select Deactivation and Deletion.
      • Choose Delete Account and tap Continue.
    5. Note: Facebook also gives a 30-day grace period to recover your account before it’s permanently deleted.
      • Facebook will ask for a reason and show you an option to download your data or deactivate instead.
      • Tap Continue to Account Deletion.
      • Confirm by entering your password.

    Important Tips:

    • Backup Data: Before deleting, consider downloading your data from Instagram and Facebook for personal records.
    • Unlink Accounts: If Instagram and Facebook accounts are linked, unlink them via the Account Center in settings.
    • Temporary Deactivation: Both platforms allow temporary deactivation if you’re unsure about permanent deletion.

Hope the information would be helpful to you :)
