Hi all - I am looking for a SIM that doesn't require a monthly top up. I plan on just using Whatsapp over Wifi so will only use less than 1 GB of data a month if wifi fails for whatever reason. It appears that alot of networks have a quasi-bill pay set up in place where you need to pay a minimum of 10 euros or so to maintain access and your credit seems to expire if you don't do this. Any options out there?

Tesco Mobile lets you keep €5 and €10 credit, once you don't use it, €10 get you free Tesco to Tesco calls while the €5 gets you free Tesco to Tesco texts and you don't need to top up every month to keep the account active. If you top up by €15 you can get up to 100gbs and a fews thousand minutes of free calls to any network for 28 days. With the €5 and €10 they don't inform you when the month is up but with the €15 they will give you 2 days notice via text. If you have €5 in Tesco clubcard points you can use their clubcard boost website to get €15 worth of credit. They charge €15 for a sim card but if you buy €15 of credit at the same time the sim card is "free". If you register the sim to you clubcard they give you double points. Tesco is on the Three network.

Postmobile has something similar. They use the Vodafone Network.

I think Vodafone lets you keep the €5 and €10 top amounts once you don't use them.

You need to top up at least every 6 months with all of them to keep them the number active.
