Hi thinking of getting this temp senor as I want a reliable sensor for my heating control that gives consistant and frequent data. I have 6 Aquara Zigbee sensors around the house but I cant rely on them they have a tendancy to go offline every now and then. I will plug this in to get more frequent updates but Ive being doing some research on-the-line and some people say it goes into sleep mode or only updates on whole numbers (maybe this is on battery mode)

Any of you guys have this or can reccomend a temp sensor that intergrates well with HA, thanks

I have a few of the Gen2 devices and I think they're great.

They only update every 30 min I think, or with a change of greater than 0.5 degree/0.5% humidity - which is fine for me. Battery life is great - close to 18 months.

I was hoping that it would update a lot more than 30mins. But I did some research on reddit and it would appear that the Gen3 if its plugged in it will update every 5 mins.

I got one anyway...along with 12 Shelly relays at €11 a pop on thier Black Friday sale

Same here, older gen. I don't need the updates so often when they're on battery, so that's fine. The one on my desk is plugged in though. Happy overall with all the various shelly H&Ts I have. Got some of the new bluetooth ones recently, much nicer than the golf balls (which were fine but the slimmer ones are handier and the button is accessible)
