    Lads, question

I have two sat cables, 28.2e, and hotbird 13e coming into my vu+ duo 4k.

Each cable goes out to 2 gt-sat (gt-dLNB1-DY).

    Type: unicable/Jess

I bought a 2 input diseqc switch thinking it would carry both feeds I want to run into my new TV, but I'm not getting any signal, reading online and not knowing much about this stuff I think I need another type of switch

Can anyone suggest for the lnbs type I have above, cheers

    Hello there

I think the unicable lnb's would have to be programmed with one being lnb/satellite A and the other B. Do you know if this was done for you by the seller? A simple splitter with DC pass all ports might work fine for combining cables, but cannot confirm this. Are you getting a signal from each cable seperately? I went the wideband lnb to dcsr/unicable multiswitch route, a setup I much prefer to unicable lnb's. I have 4 satellites and terrrestrial available to each scr userband.

Im not what you mean by programming the LNBS

On my vu+ box, I did set tuner A to the 28.2e satellite,

And tuner B to the hot bird satellite,

Tuner C is the saorview aerial,

Had multiple virtual tuners, d,e,f,g etc connected to A,B

    Also

My assumption was, the two cables going onto a standard 2 input diseq switch and I could use the new TVs internal tuners to replace the vu duo 4k box, but the TV showing zero signal, or signal strength,

On the Vu box which I have for years and years it's full signal strength

Im unable to test a single cable, as they are short l, don't reach the TV itself, only the back of the sat box about 8 feet away, the output cable on the switch I got was like an extension cable lol

    Thanks for the reply

TBH I am not 100% certain but people online seem to say that you need to have the unicable lnb's programmed so that one is lnb A and one lnb B. Most unicable lnb's can be programmed/modified to change frequencies etc. Programmers are expensive though. If this was not done a request from the receiver would go to both lnb's together which are basically A by default. If you enable diseqc options on the vu+ maybe the diseqc switch part would work but do not know.

    From youtube link

    1. For two or more uniLNB positions, the uniLNBs themselves must be programmed (pos. A, pos. B...), they will be combined into one cable with a combiner. https://satellity.ellano.sk/inverto-unicable-ii-idlu-ucm1o1-ooo2o-opp-2-cestny-combiner_37569.htmlThe UniLNB, which cannot be programmed, is not suitable for multi-position use.2. I personally have verified uniLNB Inverto, e.g. https://www.isystems.sk/lnb-inverto-unicable-ii-idlu-32ul42-unbooor a Unicable multiswitch can be used, it also needs to be programmed, in combination with wideband LNBs. However, this would not be suitable for use with a motor.3. UniLNB transmits to the receivers the full spectrum in the range of ku-band SAT broadcasting. The carrier frequencies are used for communication between the LNB and the receiver, thus it is possible to connect up to 32 receivers according to the UnicableII standard.4. VuDuo2 can handle the connection with one cable physically, other tuners are connected in the settings, then all 8 demodulators work, different frequencies are set on each demodulator for uniLNB connection.

It's unclear what exactly you are trying to do.

Are you saying you currently have two cables coming from each LNB and these two cables are connected to the Vu+Box? i.e.

    28E —cable 1—Tuner A

    13E—cable 2—Tuner B

Is this setup working OK? If it is, you are frankly better off using the Vu+box with your new TV, rather than relying on the TVs tuners - the interface on the Vu+box will almost certainly better/more user friendly than the TV. You can easily extend the coax cables by using female-female barrel connectors.

Apogee, yeah the idea was to try forfeit the box, less clutter, bit you're right the interface on the vu box, is way better, openvix image with onyx skin. I'm a tinkerer anyway, I kinda wanted to do it because I could of.... Juice ain't worth the squeeze with my setup. If it was just Saorview, it's plug and play, but I've three TV feeds, hotbird as the wife is Italian, so I've setup the FTA channels for her, obviously freesat for the UK stuff,

    Cheers lads, no worries
