I did! How did you get on?

    From the job listing:

'Please note that the department has numerous positions available, at various locations in Ireland, at
the time of advertising. The successful panel, which will be valid for 24 months, will be utilised to fill
Crime & Data Analyst positions that may arise in all Counties:
Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Leitrim, Limerick,
Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offlay, Roscommon, Silgo, Tipperary, Waterford,
    Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
The location will be confirmed at the job offer stage.'

Just realised they misspelled Offaly in the listing!

HI, thank you for that! Looks like a few jobs so. I got in the top 25 % in both tests so was happy with that for now. Howabout you JustSomeone3364?

I got top 1% for both. Already had another assessment, interview scheduled for next week, so it's all happening quickly!

Wow! That's an amazing result, well done to you. The very best of luck to you in the interview :). They didn't waste any time getting to interview stage with you. Do you mind me asking what the second assessment was like, was is similar to the first one and online also?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 50 ✭✭JustSomeone3364

The second assessment is different: it's timed, and you're asked to make a presentation based on various data sources that they give you.

I'm guessing it's slightly different each time it's conducted, but that's what it was for me.

Received an email with my scores two weeks ago today.

Top 9% in Verbal and top 40% numerical -tbh I thought I would have failed as I ran out of time.

Keep in touch with any updates everyone and good luck in your interview @JustSomeone3364

Brilliant results well done!! 👌 and best of luck with the interview! Where about are you based? I have heard nothing since they sent me my test results 2 weeks ago. Top 2% in verbal and top 25% in numerical. I'm based in Donegal.

Does anyone know do they add your scores from both tests together and get the average from both?

Did u have to use excel for the assessment or could any programming language be used like Python?

Looks like locations get decided at job offer stage.

Have many people been called for the 2nd assessment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 50 ✭✭JustSomeone3364

I have seen someone that placed in the 99th and 93rd percentile that has not been called to participate in the second assessment and interview (yet).

Although we don't know the joint distribution of the two sets of results, it's not unreasonable to assume they'd be top 5%ish in the pecking order.

This didn't give us a number per se, but an idea of where the cut off lies. Having said that, location might also be a factor in who they are calling to interview.

Ahh OK, yeah I'd say your location is a factor surely. I cant imagine that there will be a massive amount of openings in Donegal. Time will tell!

Just got placed on a panel, (OOM 16TH). Is that good? How did everyone else get on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 50 ✭✭JustSomeone3364

OOM <5, said they'd be in contact next about location requirements. Did they say the same to you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 anguitaverbier

Yes they said the same to me. Do you mind my asking what county?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2 suilleabhan

So what locations are people asking for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 161 ✭✭thirtypence

did anyone get offered a job yet from this process? I had to provide details for vetting but they didn’t say if I was going to be offered a job?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3 anguitaverbier

When were you asked to provide details for vetting?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 161 ✭✭thirtypence

just names and addresses of family

    are you at same stage?

I work for AGS currently and from my experience, vetting is the final stage in the process before making you an offer. So I would assume that your job offer is imminent pending your vetting. Unless there is additional stages relating to this competition, however, vetting is usually the final stage in the process.

Anyone hear anything about when the training might be? I would assume that they're putting everyone nationally on the same training slot, since it doesn't seem like that many people got to the (provisional) job offer stage.

the last I heard was that I passed my vetting, that was 2 months ago, I have heard nothing since. Does that mean I will not get offered a role? Has anyone got offered a role?

I am not sure why but it seems to be a slow process. I applied in 2022 and after the interview/assessment process I was put on a waiting list based on merit. This is for a Dublin position. I was eventually sent the vetting and passed that in August 2024. But heard nothing back. I am back in the process again as they asked me to do vetting in January 2025. But they are unable to tell me when I will start. From what I have heard they get a lot of people to start the training in one batch so maybe the last time our they didn't have enough people.

Anyone heard re a start date?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 50 ✭✭JustSomeone3364

Training starts in May, finishing in early June. Was only finalised within the last couple of days. Still waiting for a contract.
