Blatant Lack of Fairness / "No Appeal"

I was recently sanctioned and banned for three days from CA for posting "'I didn't say that' - incoming in 3, 2, 1 …." replying to a poster well known for deflection, disingenuous posting and often denying they posted something when we can clearly read.

I asked for it to be looked at - nothing.

I am today looking now at at least 3-4 sarcastic posts of around the same, or worse level just in one thread just this morning. Some received a sanction - some did not.

Where is the fairness ? It is so apparent that bans are being applied depending on who the poster is, not what they said.

And now to see "no appeal is allowed for short bans" - you have a situation where a very VERY subjective eye is cast over posts reported - and we know posters who will report anything that they disagree with - and a ban applied. Nothing can then be done.

We're asked to trust the Mods, trust the process - but when we can see the above happening it is so hard to want to remain posting here.

There is no appealing warnings. That's the rule. It's to cut down on the exact type of time consuming over and back with posters with "what about x, y and z posts" that you are now attempting.

Here's some inside information... The sheer amount of sht posting on this site makes it actually impossible for moderators to fairly and consistently warn every single post! It's that simple. Then you have nuances of texts. So a poster saying "I got warned and the exact same post didn't" doesn't mean anything. The phrasing might have been different, the tone, the context etc. a windup poster continually posting the same type of post might find themselves finally warned for something that another poster might not, because the other poster isn't habitually winding other posters up.

There are nuances, judgement calls, history, context, mod discretion all used when warning posts.

Posters in CA know at this stage what's expected and what's likely to get them a warning. That a sizeable number of posters still persist in abusing the rules and then crying "but.... " is an absolute drain.

You broke a rule and were sanctioned. As you are on a 3 day ban, this is not your first warning in CA. There is no appeals process for early warnings. The new rules have been agreed, explained and implemented. A Helpdesk thread is futile as it is not going to change the current rules.

Engage in some level of civil, intelligent (where possible) discussion in the CA forum and you're unlikely to pick up warnings. Sarcastic, baiting, "witty" retorts only cause more work for the mods as threads descend into a shtshow of who can get away with the most.

    Thread locked. Question answered.
