No Folio Number For My Dads Property

    hello all

    my dad currently owns a Georgian house in the city center of Dublin but when I go to look for the Folio Number on the Land and Registry site on the internet it's coming up as not on their site, does this mean the property has not been registered yet?

    all I know off my Dad is the property is going for a Compulsory Purchase Order

    Is your dad in control of the situation, or does he need help? Has he been in touch with his solicitor? Its quite possible that the property has not been registered or has not been updated on the maps.

    Property in ownership since before something like 2010 can be registered on registry of deeds.

    It's a separate system and not searchable so much as land registry.

    There will not be a registered map, more a file retained with all property info.

    An old building like that probably does not have a folio in the PRA. More than likely, it will be in the Registry of Deeds.

    I believe that you can call into the office in Kings Inn (just up at the back of Henrietta Street), but I'd give them a call and see what can be done. Probably something like this should be done through a solicitor.
