New Build - Timber Frame V Block

I'm currently in the process of obtaining planning for a new build house. The house is 2600sq ft and is a 1.5 story. After speaking with some people from the construction industry I'm unsure whether to build using blocks and insulation or timber frame with insulation and block on the outside. The cost of the timber frame house is a lot more attractive than the block which is why I'm considering it. I always assumed timber frame housing was noisy but one contractor said that using new methods of thicker insulation and acoustic sound boards have eradicated the sound issue. Just wondering if anyone has any pros/cons to either of these methods or anything I should be looking out for?

won't be any cheaper to build timber frame, i did timber frame because of speed of construction, no regrets, acoustically is fine, mine is a bungalow

I've only gotten two quotes thus far and one is timber frame explained above and the other is block. It's coming in around 60-80k cheaper to go the timber frame route.

Do you mind elaborating as I don't know a thing about sound transmission.

Timber is much easier to insulate and maintain. If I were building new, I'd 100% go for a timber frame build.

was the timber frame and block quote from the same builder, there can't be that much in it, a timber frame will cost you northwards of 100K depending on spec, blockwork superstructure should couldn't cost much more than that and certainly not 80K, if that was the case no one would build a block house

The quotes were from two separate contractors. The block contractor did work off a standard rate per square foot. The timber frame contractor just gave me a quote without a breakdown so I'm not sure how he got it. Both were turnkey finishes tho.
