    Hi

Approx 6 years ago, I was made redundant from a job I worked in for about 11 years. I had an unbroken record of employment for circa 25 years in total - paying PRSI class A.

Searched for a job post redundancy, and picked up a contract position after about 6 months - have been there ever since ie 5 years ( still contracting paying PRSI Class ER).

During the 6 months I was unemployed, I collected Job Seekers. My current contract position is now in question - so my question is, can I claim Job Seekers based on the PRSI contributions I paid in my initial ' full time staff' capacity under Class A? I know Class ER isnt entitled to JS per se.

    Thanks

    RM

There is no ER class of prsi listed here

If you are self-employed, you may be eligible for Jobseekers Benefit for self-employed (JBSE)

    Thanks

Payslip mentions ER and EE - unsure where they are - but under 'Class E' I dont seem to qualify. But wondering if my previous Class A contributions are considered…

EEr Is employer PRSI and EE is employee. Nothing to do with class of PRSI

ER means the employer prsi contribution, EE is the employee prsi contribution. These are not prsi classes. The prsi class may be listed elsewhere on the payslip.

Your A class contributions from 6 years ago wouldn't entitle you to Jobseekers Benefit
