Recommendations for bulk waste disposal in Phibsboro

    Folks,

I have a house that needs a serious clear out.

I need to do a initial clear out of all the obvious crap - particle board (IKEA-like) furniture, old beds and mattresses. I need a recommendation for a bulk waste removal service in Phibsboro - a man with van/pickup would be ideal.

I did consider doing this myself, renting a van and bringing it to bring center in North Strand, but since I am doing this solo - I am probably better off getting someone to haul it away instead.

    Thanks!

Can you just hire a skip?

There is no front garden on the house, so the skip would be put on the street in front of the house. The neighbors tell it can be a magnet for problems; people dumping their mattresses in your skip etc.

There's a company called skips on wheels, basically a truck that comes and takes junk away. Might be worth looking into

Haven't used them myself but I've heard some good reviews

You'll probably need to disassemble the IKEA furniture a bit to make sure it all fits. If you're going that far then renting a van and bringing it to the dump yourself might not be that big a stretch

I was going to suggest similar to what @the_amazing_raisin said. Citybin offer that service, afaik.

Also have heard of a company called rubbish taxi who do it. Haven't used them but have read good reviews.

Thanks folks - I will give them a call.

I have rented a van once or twice. I am not that happy driving one, so I'd rather not if I could avoid it.

Another suggestion - there's a company called Kollect that do similar to the likes of rubbish taxi and others mentioned above.
Friends of mine used them some years ago and were happy with them, afaik.
