Pay scale query

I have recently joined a department as a civil servant but very quickly realised the job is really not suited to me ( very policy heavy/ theoretical - yes I should have known that!). A state agency is advertising a job that really appeals to me, the advertised entry point on the scale is lower than my current salary as a civil servant but the job advertisement does say that the entry point on the pay scale may differ if you are a current civil servant. I am wondering will this still apply to me even though I have only been a civil servant for a few months? Many thanks guys

If you're past your probation period that's when you get your actual contract, so assuming you are still in probation you aren't really on a scale until you are made permanent. So if you were successful in this interview then I think you would have to go in at the bottom of that roles scale.

It also depends on if it is a directly comparable role - e.g. if you have 2 years experience in a directly comparable public service role, you may jump 2 points on their scale (or may not)
