…on pm's for longtime posters is pure ridiculous.

Block lasts a helluvalot longer than 600 seconds. 55 minutes and counting, I give up.

Meanwhile, real spammers post away on Boards at will.

Well done Vanilla, you rock. /s

Can't start a new thread, but this seems apt

What's happening here? It was 5 minutes + since my last post. How does this spam block work?

If I attempt to post 149 seconds after my last, does it just reset back to 0? Bit unfair with no countdown timer. I've tried to post that post a few times now.

I know the spamblock is applied as a result of having level 3 in warnings, same as the new thread prohibition.

As to how it works after that, that's a mystery. So far it seems to be buggy since the only times it's ever mentioned previously are when it seems to be broken.

Thanks for responding Spear…. If ^ this is the case, could you tell me if and why I may be under any 3rd level wrongdoing warning? because this "buggy" has been occurring (or affixed to my pm'ing) ever since Vanilla took over. I believe I brought it up back then as well. The only difference is, the block time has increased from 60 seconds to over an hour now, (regardless of what the 600 seconds says).

I don't see any warning points on your profile, so the level 3 warning implementation of it shouldn't be applying in your case at least. But the spamblock isn't limited to the level 3 warning state.

@Boards.ie: Mike can you expand upon when else the spam block triggers?

@Boards.ie: Mike Just pm'ed you there quickly to show you what's been happening and…. it's still pm blocking (even you).

Just to clarify, replying within 30 seconds is common in back and forth convos, or when you forgot to say something (as I am wont to do), waiting over an hour to reply is a bit ott (not to mention inconsiderate). Perhaps you could give the person on the other end a heads up why there is no reply, like "other poster has been spam blocked from replying to any pms (until the vanilla bots are bloody well ready to release them)"
