Hi, I'd like to dispute a 2 week ban from soccer forum. The whole summer taken up with same poster derailing thread with own anti manager sentiment on pretty much a daily basis. I posted today that only way to manage this poster was to set them to ignore on posts. Sent a message to admin that forum is being derailed again by same poster and subsequently received a 2 week ban hours later from mod despite not posting after i sent message to mod . It's nearly not worthwhile posting if some posters can drive their own agenda every day and when it's pointed out by others they receive a ban. I've reported this poster before and haven't a clue if anything was done, posting style remained the same. Can someone look at this please

As awec is now an Admin, I will look into this as Sports CMod.

Hi fatherted1969, I wasn't aware of this DRP until now. Could you confirm you have discussed this already with the relevant Mod and if so, please post those messages here or via PM.

Hi fatherted1969. Thank you for your PM.

I've looked into this and as per charter, you deserved your Warning as you said...… 'I've a regular poster set to ignore the last few months, I clicked into his posts just to see had anything changed and no, no matter what the result is you can be certain there'll be an angle that points blame at the manager. You can't debate these people, best course is the ignore function' - which is actually specifically mentioned as Backseat Moderation.

You did receive a 0 point warning previously regarding ccommenting on posters rather than posts and it was mentioned that you would receive a ban if you posted in that manner again.

However, I am going to reduce your Warning from 2 points to 1 point and as you have no other pointed warnings on your profile, your access will be returned to you. Any further 1 point warning would of course lead to a 2 week ban, so commenting on a poster in that manner or commenting on your ignore list is something you should refrain from doing.

    Is this acceptable to you?

If this poster can be told to tone down his repeated derailing of threads when it pops up I've no issue. As I've said, I've reported his posts, I've messaged the mod also, at some stage if it's not dealt with then the natural response is to reply to this.

    Cheers for dealing with this
