Hi All, please be nice, I'm a mum and recently left the family home living a few miles down the road, it's been very hard, 2 kids 1s 24 other is 15 .. both still living in the family home with their dad. After 25yrs I couldn't do it anymore, my health and mental health plummeted. I tried spare room, even caravan out back but things got worse between myself and himself.

He didn't want it to end and still doesn't but I don't see a way back, too much has happened. My daughter wanted to stay as she loves her house and he's a good dad. I see her everyday morning and night.

I'm struggling, about 6mths ago before I left he took my car, stopped any access to money etc etc

I don't know how I stand, I left with nothing, we've been in that home 18years and owned a home before also. I contributed always up until 4 wks ago.

Has anyone been in similar situation, I really don't want things to get nasty, and am trying to keep it as civil as possible, but I've lost everything 😔

    Hi Sassyb46,

Sorry to read your plight. First get some counselling for yourself and start to talk through it. Second accept the fact that it will get nasty but you can only control you and your reactions not his. TBH you can sit down with him and ask him is he interested in legal mediation, if he is try it, our own mediation failed. If he is unwilling to try mediation then you need to get yourself a solicitor and start the process of separation.Best of luck.
