Google Maps editing satellite image

I'm one of the 'local loonies' living in st Margarets and 'moaning' about the flight paths from the north runway.

Someone has a sign burned into their field saying 'Wrong Way daa' for the past year but have noticed that google maps which previously had it, have now superimposed an older satellite image over the sign so it is not visible. Ive been trying to find out the rationale for it being changed and can't seem to find anything on google /maps about this. I presume the daa requested it (for copyright infringement?)

Amusingly the daa have appeared to use satellite imagery which still includes the sign for their planning processes.

Any ideas on the process for satellite image editing requests?? or is it any writing whatsoever blurred even if without naming an entity or using unpleasant language?
