Got one of these 'cabinet of drawers' things. Ye know the sort. Put all these, random. washers and what have ye in. Only, then, I'd like to Label what's in them? Asking in here, because we'll better appreciate the likelihood of dirty fingers coming into play. Yeah?

'Obviously' ~ being of a certain age ~ my first thought was DymoTape. Remember? Turn the wheel and clutch the handle? Saw the cheap, you know where, made carp. Sod That. Found the True " Dymotape "? Reviews absolutely Destroyed Them, as well! They're All utter carp! 😱 (Ruined my fond memories!)

So, lads ….. What's good, these days, Please? What do we label our plastic drawers with?

I have an older version of this

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Brother-PT-H110-Labeller-Keyboard-Handheld/dp/B01N5ID8FR

Used them and similar for years primarily for marking up networking points, networking and phone cables etc.

The trick is to be organised and print all your labels in one go without cutting them then cut them after printing. That way you save a load of tape you'd otherwise waste printing labels one at a time.

Plan B is a black indelible marker and plan C on black plastic is a white chalk marker which stays on surprisingly well.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Well, That's handy! 😁 I was telling my mate about needing labels, today. Told him why, and I reckon he might end up getting a cabinet too. But, either way, I'd just told him why Not a Dymo. I was about to mention the electric ones when we had to change subject.

Been out. Came back. " Brother "? With the old 'Thermal Blasting', as I used to call it, back in the day when I had my Brother type writer, working off the same! Only, I couldn't Believe how good this tape is, now! Dishwasher?!

    😁 👍️

This reminds me of the rabbithole I went down last Christmas convincing myself I needed an automatic sellotape dispensing/cutting machine.

One good thing about the Brother is you can get different colour tape, it's the burn/etching with the device that puts the print on the tape.

That's an engineer's solution to an accountant's problem. Classic!

Oh man, the memories!! My sides were splitting and face hurting watching that and most other episodes. 🤣🤣

Would love to hear the OP's review of that one :-)

The downsides that I'd highlight after thinking about buying one are….

You need a payed for subscription to use all the fonts and to save (why tf can't you save on your phone?). It is however useable without a subscription.

Expensive labels - imo. Over 10 cents a label for the size I wanted. No generics available like Brother.

Prints labels not tape so you are limited to the label size you buy.

Wake me up when it's all over.

    ¡arriba, arriba! ¡andale, andale!

I had access to the older version of the brother as well... And I can confirm that the labels did indeed go through multiple dishwasher cycles. Lettering didn't fade, even on generic tape. It was in my previous employment, so no access any longer.

Needed a label maker for home, so picked up this... Text fades after about 12 months, even when out of direct light. Wish I'd shelled it for a brother. 😞

@The Continental Op; " Would love to hear the OP's review of that one :-) "

Couple of seconds, mate. Glanced at all the 'generic' things. Just glanced.

Bluetooth's a damn sore point with me, just now, too. (Or Redmi phones! 🤬)

Anyway; Due Tomorrow! 🤗 Only absolute bitch is? This other thing isn't due till Tuesday! 'Other thing' being a guage, to let me sort out the size and sorts of screws, nuts and bolts I have knocking about. Sort them. Give them drawers. Label. Forget. Die! 😁 I have it all worked out, see? No illusions, here! 😂

'Cabinet' is on the wall. I could fit Four of them, in the space I'd previously taken up! Space taken up with stuff that could All have been crammed into this One cabinet! Wow!

@Speedsie I won't even Be dishwashering my labels. Just touching their drawers with 'working hands'. … Hey! Yeah, ok. Maybe, if they ever get That mucky? I'll whip the drawers out. Buy a dish washer and stick them in it. Probably to find They're Not dish washer safe! 😬

Nah. 'Brother'? Gained my soft spot for them, ooh … Must be the guts of forty years ago, now? That type writer changed my world. Funny, looking back, how affording a new ribbon, back then, was a very conscious thing! Worth it though!

👍️ 😁 Isn't it Big, too?! When I walked from one room to another with it, in my hand, I felt like I should be wearing a white coat, or something! Very Professional looking.

Took me all of a couple of minutes to work out, to my satisfaction. Then, promptly ran off a couple of labels, for the one drawer of screws I Know the sizes of. Stuck them on their drawer. Stood back and saw that it was Fantastic!!! 😁 I went with LARGE. Oh, and it's Brilliant! Even with my eyes, it Shouts out at me! So pleased!

As per. @The Continental Op though, I've managed to stand down and shall wait for tomorrows post. Write Down all the sizes of everything. Then, pump the whole lot through, withoutabreak. Then, snip them off to use. Easily save half ye tape! (Thanks, CO!)

Want sugar with it? Turned, to leave the work room. Mind Said: " Proper piece of electrical gear, this. Room's a bit humid. Need to get it a proper, Peli case, to store it in. ….. Hey; Hang about! "

😂 How jammy was That?! Just need to get some foam insert now! 👊
