PS5 - FC 25 Won't Connect to Internet

    Hoping someone can help with this.

    My son just got a PS5 and EA 25 disc version. He can play the game no problem, but it won't connect to the internet to update to current squads, play against his friends etc. It's nothing to do with the internet connection as the PS5 itself is connected without any problems.

    Does he need to log in separately to EA 25? I've had a good look around the games settings etc and can't find anywhere to log in, but his PS5 username does appear at the top of the settings screen.

    Did he create EA account?He must have ea account to play fifa(FC) online

    Yes he has an EA account. But there are no log in options when playing FC 25 on the PS5

    I'm also under the impression that you need ps plus to play online. Do you have that covered too?

    Is that needed for EA 25 to perform general updates such as real life player transfers etc?

    I'm not 100% sure, but it is possible that it is needed. It could explain the connection error.

    I googled it and some pages suggest that ps plus is required for online gaming...

    I checked the PS store, PS+ is required for online play.

    I don't think it is. My son plays it online but I play it on a secondary account on my PS5, through console sharing, that does not have Playstation Plus and it downloads the updates.

    By console sharing, your son having PS+ on the PS5, you too can play online, therefore getting updates.
