    Avoid …5 star price for 1 star service

    If you are looking to spend €10k on a small ensuite (5ft x 4.5ft) and want only a 1 star service then this is the place to give your hard earned cash.

    To be completely transparent, I sent a complaint to Tomulescu to give them an opportunity to discuss compensation for the poor quality of service and they declined. They did however ask me to provide an accurate review when I gave them a heads up about posting my review. So here it is.

    We chose and paid 60% for our bathroom in July with works to start 7 weeks later on 16th Sept. They never turned up on the day they were supposed to and didn’t contact to let us know after I had a week of annual leave off to be home for the 5 day job. They said it was because the tiles were not delivered and it was pushed out by a week and a half. Another annual leave day for me but again, didn’t turn up on the day they were meant to, no contact from them to let me know until I messaged to see what was happening. When the job did start on the 26th Sept, the fitter (who was a subcontractor, amazing guy and not part of Tomulescu) told me that he could not finish on day 4/5 because there was no sink, sink unit, mirror, shower door or radiator! This came as news to me, again not told and as the job was pushed out in the beginning because of undelivered tiles, when were they going to inform that most of the job items were missing?

    I submitted a formal complaint because I had taken so much time off work etc and unfortunately – even when the manager promised the end of the job – they could not deliver the items on the promised last day OR ….. give us a heads up!

    Really disappointing service from this company. In my complaint on Oct 7th I said I understand that projects are delayed but why would they fail to tell us ahead, time and time again and we were not given any answers for that. The manager was very apologetic when he was trying to sort the mess out in the beginning but was rude in the end when I asked to discuss compensation for the poor service – describing all the above issues as ‘a couple of weeks delay’. When I had praise for the fitter the manager lied and told me I had sub contracted the fitter myself when actually he was provided to me by them! (work that out!!)

    Not delivering items so that the contractor can’t do the job but most importantly not informing the customer is more than ‘a couple weeks delay’ it’s a 5 star price for a 1 star service. I hope no one else enters into a contract with these guys because you don’t get the service you pay for, the bathroom you will get eventually, but be prepared to take a lot of days off for nothing.
