These electric splitters will split wood, however, very slowly. They quote 100 pieces in an hour. Think about a piece every 36 seconds plus handling time. A good splitting maul will get through a stack of logs much quicker.

Bet it Wood be okay splitting stuff that is easy to split with a maul

got one yesterday and happy with it,will do me fine for the hard wood i will be burning.

easy splits timber over a foot in diameter or bigger, but you would not be running big knotty stuff etc in to it.

does the job for the normal timber man thats dealing in normal sized diameter timber for home burning.

The trick with the heavy knotty ones is drive the axe in as deep as you can, then twist the axe handle around so the back of the axe is resting on the chopping block.

Then liift axe and block and swing hard so the back of the axe hits the chopping block with considerable ferocity.

    You took me up wrong....

I was not saying the maul would split more wood that a splitter would split, I was saying the splitter would not split more wood then a maul would split

Now say that out loud 10 times as punishment for taking me up wrong
