Nissan Micra 07 - missing code for Stereo CD Player - Please advise!!

Hi All

First time posting in this board! My Missus bought a car a few weeks ago, its a Nissan Micra 07 - Its in excellent nick, and we had a friend who is a mechanic give it the once over before taking it

The only issue is the stereo which we cannot use at all. It requires a security code, which the previous owner lost - he told us this in advance, and we thought nothing of it - its been a few weeks now. Iv googled for a while and I honestly cannot find a video on youtube, or instructions for retrieving the code. I also cannot find much info at all, on procedure to replace the stereo, or indeed remove it.

Would love if someone could provide some info on this - its our first car, and we are really excited - all we are missing is a bit of driving music or radio!

If its too troublesome to get a code - could someone advise on a replacement? Is there a particular form factor for this type of stereo - im a nerd who is used to computers, and i assumed these were quite standard, but obviously im a below novice on motors, so is there a type we should look for? And again we could obviously need to remove the stereo too so!

Nissan garage should be able to get you a code as would be registered when made.

Techkings forum also have a radio code section , but you need radio out and serial numbers and model for them to retrieve it.

Are you sure no radio book in the car with owners manual.

No we didnt get the owners manual - the car is in great nick, and after our mechanic came back and reported no issues with passing NCT, we went for it

Il have a look on techkings and see what i can find - i did see one guy that said you have to remove the stereo, but again i cant find instructions to do this - if at all possible we would like to avoid having to spend more on getting this up and running

Find out who the selling dealer was and IF they are still in business they should have

it. Some places charge for getting it. It might not be the original radio too. But it looks

like it is original.

Congrats on your first car! And welcome!
Pity about the radio code. My advice would be to just replace it with a new stereo from somewhere like Halfords (or AliExpress if budget is tight). It’ll give you Bluetooth etc and much better sound than the factory fitted unit.

There will be 101 guides on how to do it on YouTube. New stereo, fascia adapter probably and maybe a cable adapter too. It’s an easy DIY job, plug out/plug in pretty much.

Check out Endfloat on YouTube, he’s an Irish YouTuber who has done a few videos on that generation of Micra.

All you need to do is remove the radio and take note of the serial number, and then give the serial number to someone like this who will retrieve the code for you:

We took it out, and got the serial - and then used one of the sites to give us the pin number!

Write it down somewhere because if you get a battery change code will be needed again. Put it with log book or insurance cert.
