Cable broadband in new builds

Was looking at some new builds, noticed that often there are no actual coaxial sockets, TV/broadband outlets in the walls are just covered with plastic caps. Is the builder going to install those sockets at some stage or is it something that a Virgin engineer will do?

it’ll usually be the virgin engineer or yourself etc but you could get lucky.

The builder will usually terminate the Ethernet cabling to sockets though in my experience.

The builder is responsible for ethernet cable and coaxial within your house.
They may put an ethernet socket if that's on your spec sheet.
They will not install the coaxial socket, typically done at the very end when all the houses are ready to snag and VM comes in to install.

Bought a new build a about 7 years ago. Coaxial and ethernet was wired from every room back to a central point(utility room in my case). Only the sitting room had been wired up with ethernet and coaxial socket, all the other rooms have blank wall plates. Virgin installer figured it out and did the rest when he came out to connect us. I've since changed between Virgin and Sky several times and neither use coaxial anymore. Still have unused sky dish on the side of my house. Both use fiber now for internet and tv(streaming 🤮).
