Often caused by hole in cylinder coil. Can be a few other things. Needs an experienced eye to diognose properly.

Probably normal, mostly likely it's what runs the radiators . if you take a radiator down you'd notice the water in them is filthy. It's a closed system I assume.

Hi yeah it's a closed system to best of my knowledge, the radiator it attic had failed and it was pure rust came out of it.

I'm just wondering what is causing the brown sediment in the water tank in attic ,

The radiators and copper cylinder I can understand , but wondering if something else I'd also wrong

Is that water tank in attic also a reservoir for the closed system, the rads etc. I think it is, not sure, but it's an open tank, it's hardly coming out the taps if it's an open tank that mice and rats can drink from, or fall into.

Could be years of iron in water that oxidises when left for a while? Any history of iron in well water? Smell it. It might be iron.

I don't know if any history of iron in well , but cold water seems very clear

Pour some water from the cold tap into a bottle or glass and see if there is orange sediment after a few hours or longer on the base of them. If there is the treatment system probably needs to be either serviced or upgraded IMO. You can get a Co Council grant once every 7 years to do it. I had similar issues with my well.
