Opel Mokka Xenon self levelling headlight

Came back from holidays to find the bezel around the bulb has fallen off my 2014 Mokka. Unfortunately it has Xenon tracking headlights, is a sealed unit and the replacement cost is unreal. Does anyone know a headlight repair company in Cork? I can't find replacements on eBay or any of the usual online suppliers.

O42516765  Drop the O if needs be. According to Opel. They are self levelling, tracking Bi-Xenon and are like hens teeth.

One breaker has one in Wexford according to parts finder but he's looking €800 for a 10 year old unit.

Seems to be a common issue, looks like in the UK a lot of them were replaced for free with Vauxhalls short lived lifetime warranty from back then, no such luck with Opel. A quick glance shows one on ebay for about €570 delivered, still very expensive. Maybe try all the UK breaker sites with the '42516765' part number to see if you can beat that.

Sealed doesn't mean 100% sealed, it's just sealed with sealant and it is possible to open them with heat and reseal them if you fancy having a go or you can find someone to do it, assuming the plastic lens didn't melt yet.

@Buffman Thanks very much for that. I looked for days, and the only one I found was in Lithuania, but it was different. This looks like it. My worry is replacing it with a 10 year old one for that kind of money. If I was keeping it €1280 would be better from Opel with a new warranty versus the €800 I was quoted opera second hand.

My cousin owns a parts store in the UK and she is checking with their rep tomorrow. If not I'll go for the ebay one.

In the UK these are covered under a "lifetime warranty" - Id try Opel customer care quoting the UK repairing them for free no matter the age of the vehicle. You just might get lucky with getting warranty on it. Unfortunately Im not with Opel anymore but I would have tried for you if I was.

The Lithuanian could be different for LHD. Opel have a habit of using the same part number no matter what country its in so even though its the same part number the focus could be different.

The Lithuanian one was halogen from what I could see, part numbers everything were different.

The Herman one on eBay linked above looks exactly the same, and I found the following in the manual:

Headlights when driving abroad

The asymmetrical headlight beam extends visibility at the edge of the road at the passenger side.

However, when driving in countries where traffic drives on the opposite side of the road, adjust the headlights to prevent dazzling of oncoming traffic.

3. Switch on ignition.

4. After about 3 seconds, a signal sounds.

The headlights are aimed automatically.

Every time the ignition is switched on, f flashes as a reminder for approx. 4 seconds.

For deactivation operate the same procedure as described above. f will not flash when function is deactivated.

It looks like you can aim it in both directions?

Local Opel dealers brought in the mere lamp at the cost of €1300. Doesn't work. System not recognising the lamp on left or right when plugged in. Drivers side recognised on both. Now talking about a warranty claim……

Does it need programming? A lot of xenon lights need the module programmed before they will work as they come blank

Running through something similar on a 2012 Insignia that my sister owns. Fancy AFL headlights but only one dip working and no full beams. Water ingress seems to kill the modules and as you have seen replacement headlights effectively write off the car. And it cant be easily converted to halogen so the car is worthless basically.
