Hi all,

I have a Scultura 400 disc with shimano 105 components size s/m.

I'd like to get another bike with similar components on the bike to work scheme.

There's no size s/m in the Scultura Endurance range.

The Merida online size calculator has me a size s.

Height 173cm, inseam 81cm, arm length 56cm.

Two bike shops have suggested via email/chat that I try the medium .

I haven't managed to sit on an actual merida scultura endurance bike.

Any thoughts from someone who knows about height/stack etc.

Window for btw is the 10th of each month.

would you chance the small?

If you gooogle both, their geometries are available on Meridas website. Several issues with your post as they are different styles of bike. Do you want the same fit, do you want it more relaxed, more racy and so on. We don't even know if your current bike is a good fit.

Based on the reach, go for the Medium but that is based on two numbers being close and not actually good advice.

CramCycle, I would like something similar to the Scultura 400D which lbs sold me and said was correct fit. ( they have very little stock then and now)

Previously I had a Merida Ride 91 size m/l for ten years.

Bike is purely for cycle to work *5 most days, most weather.

110 miles a week.

Ride M/L seems to be equivalent to a 54cm, based on that the M Scultura Endurance, looks quite a close fit.

Your Scultura 400 in S/M must have felt a lot racier, or you had a fair stack of spacers under the stem…

All bikes were as lbs supplied. Stem and any spacers already there left alone. Scultura 400 on s/m feels "tidy" even small. But very happy with it.

Some folk seem to be very sensitive to bike fit, others more adaptable and can jump between various bikes without too much trouble, possibly you are one of the latter.

In general, in my very limited experience, when someone is inbetween sizes the guys who have more of a race focus size down and the more endurance focused lads size up. A longer/shorter stem, some movement of spacers under/over it will work as long as the frame isn't grossly the wrong size, nothing beats sitting on the bike though and seeing how it feels.

We would have a better chance to interpret fit if you had info like current stem length and height of spacer stack under the stem on current bike.

Stem is 10mm.

Height of spacer stack under stem is 25 mm.

That would suggest to me that the M is the way to go.

Let us know how you get on when you get to try both sizes
