We've had a couple of issues with our heating that have been resolved by a pretty good plumber we've had out. But we were told that the boiler would need replacing. It's still going, and we're getting hot water and heating, but there's problems with the pump and it's leaking a bit of rust. It's an Ideal Logic 30 we had installed a decade ago. We got an estimate to replace the boiler and it's coming at 4k for a 30Kw Glow Worm Energy System gas boiler. I just wanted to get the forum's thoughts on the estimate. I know very little about this sort of thing. Would that price be accurate?

Depending on where you are it varies, i'm in South Dublin and got aa quote of 2400 for a new Gas Boiler so 4k seems a lot

Try a flush and maybe a new pump first!

Some quotes Inc power flushing, fitting magna clean filter among other things.

For a combi boiler, for example, most will do it accordingly to the building regulations and install a pump and pressure reduction valves on showers etc. Others will cut corners and connect to the mains water supply. These come in cheaper on their quote but install an inferior system.

You need to be sure you compare like with like.
