    Hi,

Is this any good, sound wise?

    Edifier R1280DBs Active Speakers Wood

Or would I be better off going for separates, like this:

    https://www.adverts.ie/home-audio/jamo-floorstanding-s426-floorstanding-speakers-black-ash-140w/34356906

    and

    https://www.adverts.ie/for-sale/q_denon+amp/

    Thanks,

    C

    Hi C.

You will always get a better sound quality from a separates system.
Although I could comment on the items for sale on Adverts as I would know how much use they have had and they might be been put through their paces.

The Edifier are just a little pair of Active speaker that have the amp built it them.
With a pair of floor standing speaker and an amp you will get a much better/fuller sound.

We have the JAMO S805 priced at €299

And you could pair this with the Denon DM41 priced at €294

Might be more expensive than 2nd hand from Averts but this way you know the speakers have not been driven hard and that the items will come with warranties.

Any questions please let me know.
